Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif AirAsia Bhd Aireen Omar dinamakan sebagai seorang daripada “25 wanita paling berpengaruh dalam perbendaharaan” oleh Sidang Kemuncak Wanita dalam Perbendaharaan yang julung kali diadakan di Singapura hari ini.

Penghargaan ini merupakan pengiktirafan kepada komitmen Aireen yang membantu meningkatkan prestasi syarikat itu dan operasi kewangan serta perbendaharaannya, kata Daniel Flatt, editor majalah The Corporate Treasurer.

“Anugerah ini merupakan bukti kepada ciri-ciri pemikiran ke depan AirAsia dan juga usaha serta tenaga individu yang bekerja di sana,” katanya dalam satu kenyataan.

Aireen merupakan pengarah kewangan korporat dan perbendaharaan bagi AirAsia Bhd sebelum menyandang jawatan ketua pegawai eksekutif pada 2012.

Senarai “25 wanita paling berpengaruh dalam perbendaharaan” itu bertujuan memberi inspirasi kepada lebih ramai wanita menceburi bidang perbendaharaan dan kewangan yang rata-ratanya dikuasai lelaki.

Sidang kemuncak tiga hari anjuran The Corporate Treasurer itu disertai pegawai komuniti perbendaharaan utama rantau ini bagi menghadiri beberapa siri panel, persidangan meja bulat, bengkel kerja dan majlis anugerah. – Bernama

Ms. Cik Aireen Omar has been Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Berhad since July 1, 2012. Ms. Omar serves as the Regional Head of Corporate Finance & Treasury of AirAsia Bhd. Ms. Omar joined AirAsia in 2006 and is in charge of corporate finance, treasury, investor relations and fuel procurement.

She started her career with Deutsche Bank Securities in New York. She moved back to Malaysia in 2001 to join the MaybankGroup where she originated, structured and executed debt securities, including Islamicsecurities, worth over RM8 billion.

In 2003, she joined Bumiwerks Capital Management where she executed asset securitisation, structured finance and project finance securities, including the issue of Malaysia’s first residential mortgage-backed securities.

She has been a Director at AirAsia Berhad since July 1, 2012 and also has been Director of Airasia Global Shared Services Sdn. Bhd. since May 2013. She graduated with a B.Sc in Economics from London School of Economics and Political Science and an MA in Economics from New York University.
